Destination Wedding photography & Video // Cancun, Mexico // Sophie {+} Chris

Sometimes we are lucky enough that our clients fly us to far away places to capture their wedding. This was one such occasion.

We have been so busy this year, so busy that our last post was some time ago (Chris & Sophies’ Pre Wedding shoot).

Chris called me at the beginning of the year to enquire about a wedding video after seeing their friends Jess {+} Sams’ Film, which we had shot in 2014. He wen on to explain how his wedding was in Mexico at the Moon Palace Resort. The fact that we had provided both Wedding Photography and Wedding Video really interested Chris and Sophie, it wasn’t long before they had booked us and we where all set to fly to Mexico in April. I had several conversations with Chris in the meantime, and it was great to hear how he was excited about the film after seeing our latest work.

Having shot Destination Wedding video before, Sarah was confident in delivering exactly what Sophie and Chirs wanted, as she had solo shot Jess and Sams wedding which Sophie & Chris had loved so much.

Different from the UK Wedding Photography I had previously shot…I was a little apprehensive not having any Destination Wedding Photography experience, as the light in Mexico was far more intense and brighter than here in the UK.

But I’m delighted to confirm it all went really well. It was hard work in the humidity and heat, but we had a great time. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we felt very welcome. It was great to see Jess and Sam again and the many familiar faces. This was something we’ll always remember, since April we have shot several Weddings abroad. Sarah and I are looking forward to more Destination Wedding Photography and film shoots in 2016. I’m looking forward to sharing the amazing weddings we have shot these past months.

Wedding Photography does tell a story and a moment in time can reflect so much, but the film goes much further into a couples relationship. It is our aim to put both Photography and film together in our own unique style and tell a complete story of the couple on their wedding day. I feel we did that in Mexico.

Chris made a very touching speech, explaining how he’d met Sophie as a BB gun toting 17yr old boy. He went on to explain there chance meeting years later in Cornwall and the blossoming of their romance which lead to their vows that day.

Enough of me writing about it, I won’t do it any justice.  Go ahead and see for yourself…
